From Fall 2024 to present, I proudly served as a Co-Founder and Web Manager for The Capsized Tribune, a significant endeavor in campus journalism. This role was far more than a title; it was an immersive journey into the heart of digital publishing, where I was instrumental in shaping the very foundation of our online presence and public voice. This experience demanded a dynamic blend of technical skill, creative content generation, and strategic outreach, all focused on building a vibrant platform for student engagement and community storytelling.
My responsibilities as Web Manager for wordpress.org were comprehensive and hands-on. I personally built the full website in wordpress.org, creating the digital home where our weekly articles would reside. Beyond the technical infrastructure, I was deeply involved in content, not only by posting articles weekly but also by writing articles myself, contributing directly to our publication’s voice. Further expanding our reach, I managed our social media presence on Instagram, consistently sharing articles and updates to connect with our audience and foster a lively online community.
Key Responsibilities:
◦ Website Management: I am the web manager for WordPress.org. This includes building a full website in WordPress.org and posting articles on a weekly basis.
◦ Content Creation: I write articles for the publication.
◦ Social Media Management: I am the social media manager for Instagram, where I share articles and updates.
◦ Public Relations and Organization: My role involves organizing the writers and the group chat, as well as managing all public relations moves, including involvement fairs.
◦ Analytics: I am also responsible for SEO on the website and running analytics.
This journey with The Capsized Tribune was an invaluable chapter, solidifying my expertise in digital platform management, content strategy, and public relations.
